Ode to Pony

Little brown horse
made of stuffing
and fur.

Black button eyesDSC00461
and hair once soft.

Beat by the waves,
caressed by the seas.

On the bank he waits
for girls with child eyes
and chubby grasping hands.

She finds him on a
beach where he lay
and he became, Pony.

Loving, friendly, honest companion,
wild flowing mane,  shaved
down by the clumsy hands
of a four year old with a scissor.

Pony has worn plenty baby
doll dresses.
Traveled many a place
and has been lost
but always found.

A stuffed animal washed up by the seas.

Thank you, pony.
